First Impression: At first sight, she simply looks like Daphne’s little sister. Even if Astoria’s taller, they do look alike. But looks are only the outer shell. Astoria’s far from a clone of her sister. She talks differently, she acts differently and will do anything to keep people from referring to her as Daphne’s sister.

Personal History:

Born into the pure-blooded Greengrass family, Astoria’s not even a full year younger than her sister. Even if their parents treated all of their children equally, Astoria has always felt like she didn’t fit in perfectly. She attempted to distance herself from all kind of authority early in life, only accepting it from teachers if she found they could teach her something interesting.

Astoria and her siblings were tutored privately before attending Hogwarts, learning basic things about magic and the magical world and its history. But the real challenge started at Hogwarts when she was allowed to finally start practicing the magic she had studied in theory and only seen used by her parents or teachers.

Upon her arrival at Hogwarts, she was sorted into Slytherin, the same house as her sister. She immediately felt at home in the atmosphere of ambition and cunning tricks to reach personal goals, but never really made any close friends. She associated with classmates, but it never went further than chit chat and superficial topics.

When Voldemort’s second rise to power became public knowledge, Astoria remained strangely calm. She never spoke her mind about her opinions on Voldemort’s ideals, even if she could spot some truth in them. Instead, she simply kept to the background, watching the war from a distance. She continued her education like nothing happened, did fairly well on her O.W.L.s, but was taken out of school by her parents in her sixth year.

Once again, she was submitted to the critical looks of private teachers, but Astoria simply continued her schooling without making too much of a fuss. With nothing to distract her, she succeeded in taking her N.E.W.T.s barely half a year after Daphne had gotten them.

In the mean time, the war had ended and the Wizarding World was licking its wounds and trying to pick up the pieces. That included her parents trying to keep their businesses going while the magical world headed straight on for an economic depression. Seeing the chance to get away from home and all paternal authority, she accepted a position at the Ministry of Magic as a simple clerk at the Wizengamot. Now, with her parents and family out of the permanent picture, she has taken it upon herself to get away from the Wizarding World every once in a while, indulging herself into Muggle nightlife whenever she feels the need to escape. Sometimes, all you need is a break, right?
